Why convert HEIC to PDF?

Turning iPhone photos of documents, receipts or forms into something you can email to an office.

What is HEIC?

HEIC is what an iPhone has been saving photos as since iOS 11. It uses the HEVC video codec to squeeze a picture into roughly half the size of an equivalent JPG, and it can hold depth maps, live photos and transparency. Its problem is everything outside Apple: Windows needs an add-on, many web forms reject it outright, and older software has never heard of it.

What is PDF?

PDF here acts as a wrapper: your picture becomes a page in a document that prints predictably, can hold several images in order, and opens the same way on every machine. Handy for receipts, scans and anything going to a printer or an office.

What changes when you convert HEIC to PDF?

Your picture is placed on a page rather than changed. The image itself keeps its quality, but it becomes a document: it will print at a fixed size, and any text in the picture stays a picture, not searchable text.

How long does it take?

Images finish almost instantly. Conversion runs on our server rather than in your browser, so the only real wait is the upload itself.

What happens to my files?

Your file is uploaded to our server because the conversion runs there. A cleanup task runs every hour and deletes anything older than an hour, so nothing you upload survives more than about two hours. We do not open your files, we do not keep copies, and no account is needed to use the converter.
